LAPALMA – KIPU CLUB Armchair

Growing means exactly this, reinventing a shape that already seemed perfect. Ten years after its creation, the KIPU pouf becomes an armchair, KIPU Club. In 2014, for Lapalma, the duo Arderssen&Voll created a pouf that is both sculptural and informal, and also ideal as a side table. Its shape was inspired by a smooth river pebble. Throughout a decade, this highly elegant and versatile pouf, created to be freely placed in lounge areas, on its own or grouped, has occupied other spaces, from offices to libraries, hotels and homes, conveying its personality and comfort in a variety of shapes and upholstery wherever placed. In 2024, the Norwegian design studio added an ergonomic backrest to the KIPU seat, which supports, protects and gently embraces the body. The pebble has become a nest. And the many admirers of this furnishing item, perfect on its own and generous in pairs or groups, have formed a club. You can now enrol. Dress code? Elegance, pleasure and relaxation.

LAPALMA KIPU Collection – Modern Workspace and Lounge Design

In summer, it was a pleasure to collect the pebbles on the beach, hold them in your hand and feel their edges smoothed by the waves. Some of them would even end up in your pocket as a reminder of an encounter, a unique day. Anderssen & Voll have retraced these happy moments and transformed the most beautiful pebbles into a wonderful collection of poufs. All in different heights, colours and shapes. All in versatile combinations that transform a top into a seat. And it is as if every office, lounge and home environment suddenly overlooked a beach on the North Sea.
The Lapalma style is international by nature: our designers come from all over the world, each one bringing their own personality and vision. All of them, however, are united by a design culture that strives towards balance, simplicity and essential detail that is never decorative or an end in itself, but always provides an elegant and harmonious overall look.
