Mieke Deweerdt (1981) has been fascinated with art from a very young age. She entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges where she attended evening classes and later on the Technical Institute H. Family in Bruges to study Visual and Liberal Arts. Finally, in order to perfect her skill, she finished her studies in sculpture at the St. Lucas School of Arts in Ghent. Mieke’s work shows the interaction between humans, as well as the struggle and effort it takes to maintain balance to live together in harmony.
