GARDECO is where new ideas in art meet high-end decoration. Although Orsteinsson is mainly known for his large sculptures in public spaces, some of his most memorable works of art are the “Travel pieces”. These are miniature sculptures made from pliable materials that he carries with him wherever he goes. The travel pieces are his thoughts made visible, ruminations on the Icelandic landscape and mythology and biomorphic fantasies arising from it.

Bronze Statue Elle by Guy Buseyne

GARDECO is where new ideas in art meet high-end decoration. Belgian artist Guy Buseyne first studied the craft of furniture making. He later attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges to learn publishing and graphic techniques. To deepen his knowledge even more, he started a two year education in plastic arts, specializing in ceramics and during this period he also learned several techniques for jewellery design. He spent a lot of his time creating furniture, jewellery and sculpting, which resulted in acquiring lots of skill from experience.

Bronze Statue Danzatrice by Raffaella Benetti

GARDECO is where new ideas in art meet high-end decoration. The Belgian artist Cornelius Vandeputte (1969) started his artistic career from a very young age in theatre. Later on, he attended the state school for ballet in Antwerp. Due to physical issues, Cornelius had to abandon his dancing career and make a career switch. He worked in the film industry in the UK, after which he also developed an interest in the world of wine and worked as a wine consultant. After many years living and working abroad, the designer decided to return to his roots and moved back to Belgium. Cornelius then began a new chapter in his life, entering the academy of arts in the city of Ieper to study sculpting. He very cleverly intertwines dance and sculpting. Cornelius aims to push the limits of the material and employs shapes that evoke movement and tension and that convey emotion.

Bronze Statue Balance by Freddy De Waele

GARDECO is where new ideas in art meet high-end decoration. Belgian artist Freddy De Waele was educated as a chocolatier and worked as a teacher in a well-known Belgian hotel school for forty years. To optimize his chocolate designing skills, he took many years of sculpting and drawing classes at the art academy. From this experience, his passion to also work with bronze grew because he wanted to bypass the limitations of chocolate. Freddy De Waele draws his inspiration from the many art exhibitions he attends at home and abroad, and the work of Rodin also remains a source of inspiration. There’s a certain playfulness in the works of De Waele, his works are versatile and universal.
