LaCividina – DOROTHEA Sofa System
The inspiration for Dorothea, a type of Lithops, comes from the “living stones” succulent plant and the planar, asymmetrical seat embraced by a sculptural backrest that acts as the supporting element. Thinner in the middle, it increases in thickness at the ends, enveloping the upholstery and creating a welcoming flow of soft lines and sharp volumes. The organic shapes available in nine modules – five seats and four backrests of different sizes – promote sophisticated and original compositions beyond traditional linear modularity. Just as in nature, the individual elements come together spontaneously and, following their curves, evolve into groups that take full advantage of the space.

The last project by Francesco Geraci, Uni has become a Et al.’s icon with the same elegance of its designer. Polypropylene seat available in many different colours with an extensive range of steel, wood and aluminium frames. UNI stands out for its effective padded-look texture on the front and shiny finish on the back. Recycled PP: the theme of recycling and the circular economy is common to most of the collections already in the et al catalogue. Several versions of Nassau, Snap, Uni, Uni-ka are in fact made of recycled polypropylene in olive green. Snap is also available in marsala.

Named after one of the clearest atolls in the Maldives islands, the Ari outdoor collection represents the newest addition to Et al. Bearing the signature of French designer Philippe Nigro, the collection’s outdoor understated, elegant, and versatile is an interplay of juxtaposed and doubled that branch out in height. Metal rods start from the ground side by side and in parallel, then they bend and separate, creating the right space/shape to provide comfort to the seats. The frame collects and accommodates the seat cushion, the armrests and the backrest. Ari is a seating “program” made with a frame of metal rods, slender, created to accommodate wide and comfortable cushions and thus ensure comfort and relaxation. On this principle is declined a system composed of modules: linear, corner, end, armchair, ottoman, and side tables.
