Enjoy handcrafted art pieces by belgian designer brand Gardeco. Tatiana Queiroz is a Brazilian designer based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. She founded her own design studio TAAT, where she creates jewellery and design objects. For Gardeco, Queiroz eloquently translates soapstone, a local raw material, into a universal, timeless and contemporary design language. Soapstone is a very soft material, making small marks inherent to this natural material. The design objects are handmade by professional craftsmen. Using a lathe and scraping tools, solid blocks of soapstone are turned into strikingly beautiful creations with stand-out silhouettes. Soapstone is known for its neutral colour palette. The colours may vary from gentle beige to blue and silvery grey. Darker coloured veins, some deeper than others, run through the stone forming a unique pattern in each piece. These elements are essential properties of natural soapstone and add to the charm and uniqueness of each product. The pieces are strictly for indoor use.
