Charles is a sofa bed with curved backrest equipped with Lampolet mechanism, that allows to transform the sofa bed in a fast and easy way, without having to remove the cushions that remain fastened to the structure. By tipping over the backrest you can create an XL single, French double or standard double bed. Thanks to a 2 metres long mattress available in polyurethane, latex or with springs, this sofa bed is ideal to create a comfortable extra bed for your guests.
Other than being easy to open, Charles stands out for its shape and looks. Designed by Roberto de Lorenzo and presented at the 2016 Milan’s Furniture Fair, it is characterised by lines recalling the 50s style. This old-fashion design is here proposed in a modern way, and enhanced with handcrafted quality details and fabric, faux-leather and leather covers available in a wide range of colours.
Mechanism (sofabed): High resistance steel tube epoxy baked painted. Orthopedic bed with beech wood slats. Seat made with webbing. Opening and closing operations with one single movement (sofabed only). Structure (sofa): Solid fir and particle wood. Seat made with webbing. Cover made with 10 mm. foam combined with interliner and 100% cotton canvas. Mattress standard (sofabed only): Expanded polyurethane foam 35 Kg/m 3 covered on both sides with 100% cotton fabric quilted with 100% polyester fiber 400 g/m2. Frame: Solid fir and poplar plywood. Back in high resistance steel tube epoxy baked painted Legs: polished aluminum. Padding: Seat: expanded polyurethane foam 35 kg/m3 ; needle-punched thermo-fixed fiber 280 g/m2 and 2,5 mm. quilted interliner. Back: expanded polyurethane foam 21 Kg/m3 ; needle-punched thermo-fixed fiber 380 gr./m2 and 2,5 mm. quilted interliner. Frame: expanded polyurethane foam, 40 Kg/m3 ; resinated polyester fiber 200 gr./m2 combined with interliner.
